3 Hidden Signs Your Body is Stuck in Fight or Flight (Christian Guide)
When your life looks “fine” on the outside but your body feels like it’s in constant danger, it’s not because you’re “too sensitive” or don’t have enough faith. It might be a sign your nervous system is stuck in fight or flight.
In this Christian mental health teaching, we’ll walk through 3 common physical signs of nervous system dysregulation—and how to gently pray through them without shaming your body or bypassing your trauma.
In this video, we’ll cover:
• Why your chest feels tight and it’s hard to get a deep breath (air hunger + “phantom heart attack” anxiety)
• How chronic gut issues (nausea, IBS, knots in your stomach) can be trauma responses, not just “digestive problems”
• What’s really happening when you feel “tired but wired” and crash at the end of the day (the adrenaline hangover)
• A simple Somatic Prayer practice (hand on heart, breath, and scripture-based declarations) to remind your body: “I am safe here. God is holding me together.”
Your body is not your enemy. It’s been trying to protect you for a long time. In this space, we learn how to thank it, listen to it, and then invite Jesus to take the night shift.
🕊️ If any of these signs sounded like you, let me know in the comments with: “I am safe here.”
That simple act of naming it is part of your healing.
